UF10 06-21 03 10 SECRETS OF CREATION
Week-long residency with artist Conrad Shawcross and mathematician Matthew Watkins. The residents, together with the Urbanomic team, spent the week in research and discussion beginning with the question: How can artists and artworks stage a 'dramatisation' of abstract concepts that allows them to be grasped by non-experts?

The residency ended with a public symposium where the residents discussed their work and the week's outcomes, and presented the assemblage that the team had constructed during the process.

The residency was inspired by two contributions to Collapse: Prime Evolution, interview with Dr. Matthew Watkins in Collapse I: Numerical Materialism, and Conrad Shawcross and Robin Mackay, Shadows of Copernicanism, in Collapse V: The Copernican Imperative.
